It's finally arrived in Winnipeg. SHAME opened last week on Friday at Grant Park Cinema. I've been waiting to see this movie for months now and was ecstatic to finally see it on Friday.
Liza and I arrived at the theater with about 5 minutes to spare.
We arrived in the parking lot and
noticed that is was quite busy for Grant Park on a Friday night. We parked and
walked into the mall, and I almost cried. The line curved out of the movie
theater and created a ‘S’ shape pattern in the middle of the mall. I couldn’t
believe it. I was very frustrated. Surely all of these weren’t here to see
Michael Fassbender battle sex addiction. We’ll never know I suppose, we left
and just watched it on Sunday. The end.

Interview with Mike Haynes of PNP Games.
As you may or may not know, my groups magazine is all about vintage/retro. And since I'm not into fashion (although I'm very fashionABLE), I decided to interview Mike Haynes, manager of the PNP Games McLeod location. It's a really neat place with every kind of NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) game you ever played as a kid. I even picked up some sweet retro energy drinks that I'd never seen before:
Here's a few excerpts from the interview, enjoy:
ME: So, tell me a little about how PNP got started.
Mike: Well, it actually started as strictly an E-Bay business ran out of the owners basement. In 2007, we opened this location and in 2009, Portage Avenue opened.
ME: What's been your biggest challenge while working at PNP Games?
Mike: I'd have to say opening the second location. It was crazy busy, we did the renovations ourselves, it was hard work. Either that or trying to keep track of all the stock and make sure we have it when people come asking for it.
ME: I noticed you guys carry a lot of NES games, I remember as a kid, I'd blow in the cartridges and punch the NES until it worked.
Mike: Yeah, you shouldn't really blow in the cartridges. It's like spitting into the game. Although hitting your NES is a good short term fix, it'll only damage it in the long run.
ME: I'm trying not to quote Rod Stewart right now.
They carry a lot more than just NES games, too. Pretty much anything from Atari and Intellivision to Modern Warfare 3. It's just a really cool place.
